Overview

Through our Early Intervention Services, Advocates provides high-quality, individualized, and intensive therapies to children with autism who are under the age of three. Our Early Intervention Services are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

From the beginning, we work with the child and family to assess the child’s capabilities, develop objectives and strategies for teaching, and provide instruction in cognitive, social, play, self-care, and communication skills.

Advocates is a DPH-approved Specialty Provider for children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Our Services

Early Intervention Services include:

  • Assessment – educational and functional behavioral evaluation that assess your child’s capabilities and result in specific recommendations for treatment planning
  • Clinical Design – developing objectives and strategies for teaching, along with behavioral support strategies, specific to your child’s individual needs
  • Clinical Consultation – availability of a clinician to support families, school or daycare staff, and other team members
  • Education – instruction in cognitive, social, play, self-care, and communication skills provided at home, at school or daycare, or in the community

Transitioning to School

Before the child’s third birthday, we complete an assessment that can be shared with the child’s Individual Educational Program (IEP) team or at the transitional meeting. The assessment provides information and current progress data and will help families form an on-going plan for treatment.

Funding

Funding for Early Intervention Services are provided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), MassHealth, and family insurance plans.
