Our Respite Options program provides families and other caregivers with temporary relief, allowing a much-needed break from the demands of caregiving. Respite Options staff are Advocates employees who have experience working with children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Our Services
Group Respite in the Community
We offer three-hour respite sessions with fun, enriching activities at various locations in the MetroWest area. Activities and events may include socializing with peers, bowling, mini-golf, cooking groups, spending time at the mall, arts and crafts, attending community events, and more.
In-Home Respite Care
For individuals who may be better served in the home, our team will work with your family to identify alternative options for respite, such as in-home or community-based 1:1 respite with one of our skilled respite workers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual aged eight or older with an intellectual or developmental disability
- Currently does not have respite programming
- Participates in any Advocates program
- Is able to be safe with themself and others
- Advance registration and intake required
Please note: Respite Options may not be able to provide services to:
- Individuals who require skilled nursing support
- Individuals who require 2:1 behavioral care
Payment Options
- DDS funding for Respite Options may be provided for eligible families
- Private pay options available
