Thank you for a #summeroffun!

Summer has now come to a close and people all around us are back to school, and back to the grind. But we won't soon forget the amazing generosity of donors like you who contributed to our first #SummerofFun campaign. Nor will the individuals we serve at Advocates who now have memories to last for years to come.

Over the summer, with the support of sponsor Krokidas & Bluestein, and 88 donors, we raised $8,730, surpassing our goal. We've been able to fund 27 recreational activities and excursions, serving 260 people!
 

Peter visited the New England Aquarium in Boston with others from a mental health program. He said of the experience, "It was a very exciting trip; I was able to touch a sting ray for the first time in my life and that was exciting."

After a group from our brain injury division visited the Museum of Science and Dave and Busters, staff member Nicole said, "Our participants had the chance to let out their 'inner child'...everyone had a positive attitude and cheered each other on. We could not ask for two better outings!"

It's for these reasons that we want to continue making recreation a priority for individuals with disabilities -- it's an essential element in creating a happy, healthy life. We couldn't have done our first #summeroffun campaign without you.
