Advocates, a Framingham-based provider of services to individuals facing life challenges, has appointed Regina Marshall of Framingham senior vice president for administrative operations.

Marshall has a broad range of experience as a legal advocate and administrator at both the executive and operational levels of state government. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and African American studies from Simmons College and a law degree from Northeastern University.

Most recently, Marshall was center director of the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, which serves more than 1,200 clients, where she was responsible for all clinical and administrative operations.

Marshall has previous administrative experience working in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services where she oversaw disability agencies that include the Department of Developmental Services, Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, and the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

In joining Advocates, Marshall said she plans to use critical thinking, her ability to leverage resources, and communications skills she has gained from her previous positions in state government to help advance and grow the organization.
