Advocates, a provider of services to people facing life challenges, has promoted Keith Scott to vice president of peer support and self-advocacy.
Mr. Scott, a resident of Fitchburg, has worked for Advocates’ Mental Health Division for more than 20 years as a program director, administrative director, director of clinical services and, most recently, director of recovery and peer support. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and overseeing peer support and self-advocacy services for the entire organization, as well as oversight of all human rights mechanisms.
Advocates supports people with disabilities or psychiatric diagnoses. Peer support and self-advocacy are two critical ways to draw on that life experience so that the people Advocates serves can reach their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
Mr. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in human services administration from Springfield College and is a certified psychosocial rehabilitation practitioner and a certified peer specialist.
