For nearly two decades, caring partner Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation has collaborated with the Autism Alliance – through grants, community events, programming, and so much more. And when the Autism Alliance became part of Advocates, the partnership grew even stronger.

Together, the Autism Alliance and Flutie Foundation share resources, information, and the common mission to help families with a loved one on the autism spectrum. Much needed vacations, family events, and a Friday Night Club for young adults with autism are all made possible by the Foundation. Grant funding provided by the Foundation allows the families of the Autism Alliance to apply for assistance with their child’s autism diagnosis.

We’ve seen enormous community involvement through the partnership as well. For 15 years, the Autism Alliance has hosted an annual kite day event, designed to increase autism awareness and educate the community. In 2015, the Autism Alliance held their first ever sensory-friendly evening at the Southwick’s Zoo, and the Flutie Foundation was right there by their side.

Another great way the Foundation has partnered with Advocates, is by funding the state of the art fitness center at our Life Skills & Learning Center in Ashland.

Most recently, Advocates and the Autism Alliance have supported meaningful employment for adults with autism through mailings provided by Flutie Foundation Enterprises. It’s these kinds of opportunities and creative solutions that improve the quality of life for families and individuals living with autism.
